Meet Our VP of Operations

We recently brought onboard a new Vice President of Operations; his name is Edward Helbeck!

About Ed Helbeck:

In 1986, Ed started his career as a Union Assembly Bench Technician where he built and tested fire alarm panels before installation. Just a few years later, he quickly progressed his career by moving to the Installation and Commissioning Division where he learned about the many different systems and the NYC Fire code.

Throughout his career, Ed has worked on all types of projects including, but not limited to, hotels, high rise buildings, correctional facilities, and schools. He has gained an extensive knowledge on various systems such as fire alarm, security access control, CCTV and nurse call systems.

Past Roles:

  • Union Local 3 Technician for 20 years
  • After those 20 years, Ed was asked to become a Project Manager in 2005
  • Shortly after becoming a P.M., Ed was promoted to Senior Project Manager

As a Project Manager & Senior Project Manager, Ed led and grew an entire division of Engineers, Drafters and a team of Technicians. It was always his goal to complete projects on time and on budget while developing relationships with the installation team and clients.

Current Role:

As the new VP of Operations, Ed will oversee the entire Operations Department.  In this role, he will ensure development and implementation of efficient operations to meet current and future needs of clients and the organization.

Safeway Fire is excited to have Ed as part of the team to bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the company.  Welcome aboard, Ed!
